Hello! My name is Christa Petzold. I live with my husband Jonathan and our four kids in Bartlett, IL (a Chicago suburb). Jonathan is a Lutheran pastor (in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod) and I am a second-generation homeschool mom.
I have a Master’s degree in Theology from Concordia University Irvine, and my Bachelor’s degree is in Mathematics and Lutheran Secondary Education from Concordia University Wisconsin, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in History of Exegesis from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis. I am the author of Gathered by Christ: The Overlooked Gift of Church, and co-author with my husband of Male and Female: Embracing Your Role in God’s Design, both available from Concordia Publishing House. I have also written New Augsburg, a novel which will be the first in a trilogy.
I love learning, especially about theology and church history, and I love sharing what I’ve learned with others! This website is a place where you can find information on my books, the theology classes I teach for homeschool students, and other resources I’ve found helpful for living a life immersed in God’s Word.
