Looking for an event speaker?

I have experience as an event speaker, Bible study leader, Mothers of Preschoolers Coordinator, and high school theology teacher. I am passionate about deep, biblically-rooted Bible and topical studies for women, and I love to learn from women who have had different life experiences and journeys than mine. I am also available for speaking engagements via Zoom.

Topics

The following topics are areas of passion for me that I have taught on in the past. I can also work with you to craft a specific topic or study for your event. If you’d like to mix and match some of the ideas below, we can discuss that too!

  • Male & Female – How does God’s design for us as men and women point us and others to the Gospel message of salvation in Jesus? How do we apply God’s Word on issues of marriage, singleness, family, abuse, and men and women’s unique roles in church ministry to our lives in an increasingly secular culture? Most importantly, what does the Bible teach us about our manhood and womanhood?
  • Gathered by Christ – What is the Church? What does it mean to be the Church? Do you need to be connected to the Church to be a Christian? Why does Jesus institute the Church? This study dives deep into the gifts that Jesus has given His Body, the Church, and the comfort that is found for us as individuals in and through the Body of Christ. Specifically, we study what is the rule of faith, what are the practices of the faithful, and what is the hope for the world? What gifts does Jesus give to the Church in each of these areas?
  • How and Why to Teach Church History to Kids – Demographic data shows that only a small percentage of Gen Z and Gen Alpha are practicing Christians. How do we raise and equip our children in the Church to stand firm in their faith throughout their lives, when that will so often mean standing apart from their peers? Church history provides answers to the big questions young people have about organized religion, denominational differences and Christian teachings, while also filling their hearts and minds with encouraging stories of men and women who also stood firm on God’s Word in times and places where doing so was costly. Discuss how and why church history can encourage Christians of all ages in their faith, and learn where to start if “history” sounds dry or intimidating.
  • Parenting in the Pew – Why do we bring kids to church? How do we survive the challenge of herding our little, wiggly ones into the sanctuary each Sunday morning? What are some practical ways that we can raise the next generation of Christians through intentional teaching and discipling in our home? Most importantly, what does God’s Word teach us about the value of Church, and what does it mean to raise our children in the Church?
  • I have also lead historical studies, such as Where do the Creeds come from? or What are the Lutheran Confessions?

Do you coordinate a mom’s group (such as Mothers of Preschoolers)? I have a few extra parenting-specific topics I’ve shared in the past as well.
